Q. Is the festival indoors or outdoors?
A. The festival will be entirely indoors. The Premier Event Center is an air-conditioned, handicapped-accessible venue.
Q. Is parking free?
A. Yes. The Premier Event Center is located in the Lakeland Plaza Shopping Center, which has a large free parking lot.
Q. Do I need cash or can I use my credit card?
A. You can pay your festival admission fee by cash or credit card. Some of the vendors accept credit cards and some don’t: it’s up to the individual Vendor what types of payment they accept. If you want to bid on a Silent Auction item, only cash or checks will be accepted.
Q. Can I leave and come back in later?
A. Yes. Once you enter the festival with your ticket (or pay your admission fee), you’ll be given a wristband that will allow you to enter and leave as you please.
Q. If kids get in free, why do I have to get a ticket for them?
A. The Eventbrite advance ticketing system helps us keep track of how many people are attending. We need to have a headcount of children and adults for many reasons: (1) fire code capacity, (2) so children’s entertainers can have enough supplies and can prepare for the right amount of kids, (3) so our Vendors can have enough supplies, cups, ice, merchandise, etc. for the attendees.
Q. What is there to do besides drink tea?
A. We have a great lineup of Speakers from the tea industry who are doing talks on various topics related to tea. We also have music and dance performances, Cowboy poetry, storytelling, and entertainment for the kids. Over 35 vendors will have goods and services for sale. At 4PM, the Iced Tea Contest winners will be announced!
Q. Is it all sweet tea or will there be unsweetened tea?
A. What teas will be offered for sampling and selling is at the discretion of our Vendors and Contestants. However, we expect that there will be a variety of both sweet and unsweetened tea, as well as bubble tea, herbal tea, and maybe even hot tea!
Q. Is the tea included in my admission fee or do I have to buy it?
A. That depends. Some of the tea Vendors will be offering free samples of their tea in small cups (or pouring a small sample in your souvenir sample cup if you are an “Early Bird” ticket holder). You’ll also get to try a small sample of each of the teas entered in the People’s Choice category of the Iced Tea Contest.
If you like one of the teas you’ve sampled and would like to buy a big cup of it, some of the Vendors will be selling 12-ounce cups of cold tea.
Q. Is everything included in my admission fee?
A. Your admission fee gives you access to the tea talks, live entertainment stage, children’s area, vendor/shopping area, and people’s choice iced tea contest area. The charity bubble tea tasting at 1PM is not included in price of admission. An additional fee of $20 is requested to cover the cost of ingredients and to benefit the All as One Children’s Center. You may purchase your tasting ticket in advance on our Eventbrite ticketing site, or at the registration table during the festival.
Q. Are all of the vendors going to be tea vendors?
A. No. Although we have several tea Vendors, there will be a variety of other goods and services offered.
